In this step, make sure the resistors are flush with the board, or bent out away from your tube base insulators enough for your preferred tube aligment. Solder the resistors in place. Trim the excess resistor leads close to the board once you've soldered them. Next, check your tube alignment one more time, and solder one lead on each tube. Preferably cathode pin 7 on each tube. Once you've done that, you can check for tube alignment, and straighten each tube that needs it. The more pins that are soldered, the more difficult / dangerous it is to attempt to bend the tubes straight, so be careful. Once you have your tubes where you want them, solder a pin on the other side, cathode 1 or 2, and check alignment again. |
